MY HEART WAS BROKEN BUT I KNEW THERE WAS A BETTER TIME
60Ms. Mimi
(This is a true story about a sweet soul that was a member of my church that I loved dearly. Her name is Ms. Mimi.)
FEEDING ON HESITATION
Miss MIMI is gone.
Miss Mimi was a wonderful woman. She was our grandmother in the church. If you had any questions about life marriage or anything she was the woman to go to.
She was 90 years old; she had outlived two husbands and she was loved by all.
Ms. Mimi had helped countless striving young people become ministers. If they needed a place to live she would move their whole family in to her home to live. She would feed them and make sure they had clothes. Her and her husband helped build the church we go to.
As Ms. Mimi aged she got sicker. I had gone to see her and take her lunch when she admitted to me she was ready to go home to be with the Lord.
Although she was bedridden she was instructing everyone what she was going to wear when Jesus came to get her. She admitted that an Angel had visited her in her dreams to tell her she would be going home very soon. I had never seen anyone so excited about dying. Needless to say I was amazed.
All I wanted to do was cry, but how could I when I had this brave woman anticipating what was going to come.
Oh Ms. Mimi
Lovely that you are
Your spirit so attuned
To the knowledge of our
Lord
For your final journey
What a wonderful time
You will have
With the greatness
And being shared
With so many before
Your excitement is overwhelming
The joy of your spirit
So ecstatic
‘If I wait Lord, you’ll cause it to bloom not just in good time, but in your perfect time.”
Ms. Mimi would pray so sweetly and elegantly and with diligence to her sweet Lord, just knowing and believing that she would be made whole when she would be home with her Lord.
You see she had a several strokes and she was crippled by rheumatic arthritis. She was in a wheelchair and in a lot of pain. I could go on with all her illnesses and needless to say she was ready to go home.
The day she died we all stopped and held each other and cried and then we realized she was with her Lord and no more pain.
That morning I sang her a song. As I cried I tried my best as I sang how much I loved her and was going to miss her but I knew I would see her again one day.
I love you Ms. Mimi.
Love Debbie

Ms. Mimi does sound like an angel. I know how much it hurts, to miss someone. But I guess She lives on in your life... ((((hugs))) and love to you. Have a blessed day! Peace.
Ms.Mimi sounded like a blessing from the Lord. Reading this stirred my spirit and my heart filled with with a joyful noise when the Lord told me she was a gift to all who knew her. There are always those who in our life are very special and we have learned so much from...our lives are richer because of them. These are also the ones because of their impact upon us, we can pick up where they left off and use what has been imparted to impart to others. I pray that will be true for you. Blessings.
Hi Debbie,
I was deeply touched by your beautiful tribute to your friend, Ms. Mimi. Very fitting for such a special lady.

Debbie, what a truly beautiful Hub! Your rich and heartfelt words leave me feeling like I almost know this wonderful Ms. Mimi.
Voted up and it was a privilege to read.
Losing people we love is so hard. Yet, having their memories does bring comfort. Beautiful Debbie!
Dying and death is not a bad thing when the person faces her own ending without fear or worry. She must have been blessed and known and saw it and was at peace with herself and the world. She sounds like she was a special person. Mimi sounds like a person who was well worth knowing. This is a very moving hub.
This was awesome
Voted up ! Debo that is really a master piece of English literature.
Generous ,kind hearted, warm and loving people like Miss Mimi, makes the world go around and a better place to live in.A heart touching hub.
Awe, this is so heart warming, and it goes to show the true inner spirit of a woman known as Ms Mimi, your love for her transcends time and space, and enters the spiritual realm and for that you're surely going to meet again.
I loved every bit of this hub, and this one is being shared outside of hubpages indeed. I love your writing style and ability, awesome job here. Voted up!
So very sad and beautiful at the same time ;straight from your heart Debbie and it says so much about you.
Take care my dear friend.
Eddy.
Great job, wonderfully done although sad, still beautiful because of Ms Mimi's testimony for the Lord. I loved the Journeymen rendition of "Sweet, sweet Spirit"
Very well done and I could feel your pain. I voted UP all across except for funny.
Mimi was such a down to earth sounding board. She taught me that true submission to the Lord took great strength. Every year on her birthday, I stop to thank the Lord for allowing her to have been in my life. Thank you, Deb, for the wonderful poem and story. Very uplifting. People like Mimi and you are the people that I hope I am like when I grow up.
What a blessing to have had such a wonderful relationship with such a beautiful person. She left quite a positive impression on your life. I have had a couple of older Godly women mentors in my life that have helped me understand myself better. Thank you for sharing.
Remembering a veteran with respect pays in form of inspirations, and you deserve that. Thanks for showing a path to humanity of remembering the veterans. voted up.
Thank you for this mrs debbie:) Mimi truly was the best grandmother, but more than that the most wonderful Godly mentor I had as a young girl!
This is precious Debbie. You were so lucky to have known Ms. Mimi. She sounds so much like my Grandmother Minnie. She used to say that she would be so happy when she could go home to be with God. One day she ate lunch, laid down across her bed and died, no pain, not a word spoken. The only way we felt sad was knowing she wouldn't be with us anymore. We knew she was with God. I loved your story..Thank you..
Debbie, this is such a wonderful tribute to Ms. Mimi and I'm sure she is still looking over everyone in your church to make sure they are beening looked after. Voted up,awesome and beautiful great lady, Joyce.

This was such a completely touching story and brought tears to my eyes.
What a beautiful lady she was, and what a beautiful lady you are to write such a lovely poem in her memory. The world needs more people like the TWO of you. You made my day with this sweet Hub.
Debbie what a beautiful tribute to someone so special. Beautiful hymn also and I only pray I will be so anxious myself to go home even knowing I should be. We should all know someone like Ms Mimi to get our priorities right.
Up and across.
Paul said.. I have fought the good fight.. Ms. Mimi has fought the good fight.. I know many at times we hear people say; You look like an Angel.. You are the Angel heaven is missing... Do you know what I think, we might have heard, but the people Ms. Mimi have being so lucky to have actually lived with one.. May her gentle soul continue to rest with the Lord! Amen!
A great Photo. Such a beautiful story. Just by listening to you relate the story had me thinking a lot, great thoughts , but that's what this life is truly about .
There are lessons that we are all supposed to hear from those we meet along life's way , and learn that they have been those places, that we did not, and there are reasons for our meeting them . If only we believe ! No one comes into or around our lives by accident.
It's beautiful when I hear of, or even meet those kinds of people, the ones who understands their life in full. For I know that life is meant for us to know . Knowledge is the truth, and that's the ultimate power!
A great story Debbie.
Bless.
Debbie dear, you never stop to amaze me with your writing, this is just another great one..Enjoyed reading. Interesting and voted up
